The Data Quality project was kickstarted in April 2024, after several SPOs shared their reservations about the quality of data in the ecosystem.
The project hinges on the two anchors:
The project is currently exploring these themes, and aims to devise solutions to enable SPOs to improve their processes for better data quality.
The Data Quality project is currently a qualitative exploratory study, trying to understand the root causes related to data quality in the social sector. The project also seeks to build a Community of Practice, which can guide the project objectives. This will be done by interacting with stakeholders such as grassroots NGOs, data experts, funders, and market research or digital solution vendors.
By studying the data-related challenges of SPOs, particularly of data quality, this project paves the way to seeking holistic answers to solve systemic issues in the sector. This awareness will serve as a foundation to build many practical solutions for data quality challenges. The long-term objective is to enable awareness, collaboration, and advocacy, especially for funders and regulatory bodies, to solve systemic issues around data quality, and therefore foster greater trust in the data ecosystem.
In the next phases of the project, which will start from December 2024 onwards, a larger 3-year plan for short-term as well as long-term outcomes will be built out.
