What is Code4Change?

Are you ready to use your data science expertise to drive meaningful change? Then, form your team and join Code4Change! Organised by the Centre for Data Science and Social Impact (CDSSI) at the Indian School of Development Management (ISDM), Code4Change brings together innovators, thinkers, and changemakers to tackle critical social issues. This virtual hackathon is open to teams from all walks of life and has no participation fee.

How will Code4Change 2024-25 work?

  • There will be two themes for Code4Change 2024-25 - Youth Employability and Climate Resilience.
  • All those who register can choose one of the two themes for their problem statement. Explore the detailed problem statements now.
  • The problem statements were developed in collaboration with our Knowledge Partners - Esther Foundation, Common Grounds, Living Landscapes, CoRE Stack and Platform Commons. Participants will engage with them through a webinar and receive their problem statement and dataset.
  • Participants will get 10 days to develop their solution and share it via email.
  • A panel of jury members will evaluate the solutions based on the originality of the idea and the feasibility of implementation.
  • The jury will then select the top five solutions. The shortlisted participants will be invited to present their data science solutions before eminent AI and sector experts.
  • They will receive certificates of participation from the jury during a day-long event.

  • You can participate from anywhere, and there is no registration fee.
  • You will get an opportunity to showcase your creativity and apply your data science skills to solve real-world problems.
  • If you get shortlisted, you will present your work to renowned data science and social sector experts, and receive a certificate of participation.
  • The winning team will receive a certificate of contribution and the opportunity to write a blog of their solution on the ISDM website.
  • The winning team may also be considered for the CDSSI Fellowship*.

*Only Indian nationals will be considered for the CDSSI Fellowship.

Common Ground is a collaborative initiative leveraging the Commons to address linked crises of livelihoods, climate, and social equity through a collaborative action framework. Anchored by Living Landscapes as its backbone organisation, it fosters collaboration among multiple actors to address challenges in rural livelihoods and environmental governance.
