Philanthropy has long been considered one of the enablers for creating an equitable and just society for all. The role of philanthropy has been to generate fresh ideas and test new ways of promoting equity, efficiency, and humaneness in social programs. To further explore philanthropy’s role in building an equitable, inclusive and just society for all, ISDM-CPID launched a research fellowship in 2022.
So far, we have mentored one cohort of research fellows.
You can know more about our fellows here.
This is a call for interested researchers and scholars to apply for the second cohort of the CPID research fellowship.
Philanthropy that is centered around the needs of the community, involves and engages with the community and is led by the community can be more effective and sustainable. Community philanthropy has great potential for making development inclusive, particularly because it is socially embedded, is cognizant to local needs and is driven by community knowledge often using local resources. It involves collaborative partnerships among diverse stakeholders to create long-term, sustainable impact. Hence, this year, the centre has decided to focus on studying the various facets of community philanthropy.
